Buy & Bid on BidZid.app: A Buyer’s Guide

Welcome to Kenya’s premium auction marketplace. To ensure a secure, transparent, and luxury experience for everyone, we operate on a Secure Escrow Model. This means your money is held safely by BidZid until you confirm you are happy with your purchase.

Follow these steps to get started:

1. Create Your Account

  • Click on “Login/Register” in the top menu.
  • Select “I am a Customer.”
  • Fill in your details. Use a valid email address, as all auction outbid alerts and payment receipts will be sent there.

2. Finding & Bidding on Items

  • Browse our categories or use the search bar to find an item.
  • Place a Bid: Enter your maximum amount. If someone outbids you, you will receive an instant email notification.
  • Buy It Now: Some items have a fixed price. You can bypass the auction and secure these items instantly.

3. Winning & Payment

  • Once the auction timer hits zero and you are the highest bidder, you win!
  • Go to My Account > Orders to complete the checkout.
  • Secure Payment: Pay via our integrated secure gateway (M-Pesa/Card). Your funds are held in the BidZid Escrow Account—they are NOT sent to the vendor yet.

4. Delivery & The “Unboxing” Rule (CRITICAL)

  • The vendor will ship your item or arrange for collection.
  • The Unboxing Video: To protect yourself against disputes, you must record a continuous video of yourself unboxing the item. * The video must show the sealed package, the label, and the physical condition/functionality of the item as it is removed.
    • Without video evidence, BidZid cannot arbitrate disputes regarding the condition or functionality of the item. In such cases, any further follow-up must be handled directly between you and the vendor; BidZid will not be held liable.

5. Confirming Receipt & Releasing Funds

  • Once you receive and inspect the item, log in to BidZid.app and click “Confirm Receipt” on your order page.
  • The Deadline: You must confirm receipt within 48 hours of delivery.
  • Automatic Release: If the vendor marks the order as “Completed” and you do not raise a dispute or confirm receipt before the deadline, the funds will be automatically released to the vendor. Once funds are released, the transaction is considered final.

Summary of the “BidZid Protection” Policy:

  • Escrow Security: Your money is safe until the item is in your hands.
  • Video Evidence: No video = No dispute support from BidZid.
  • 48-Hour Window: Act fast to inspect your goods.
